To Travel is to Live

If you don't already have one, you must get a passport.

There is an entire world out there to discover and your U.S. passport gives you access to this WORLD 🌎.

It doesn't matter if you're a lil broke right now, a single mother, in between jobs,  scared of flying or unsure about where'd you go and how you'd get there if you did have a passport.

Take mini steps to get the passport then figure out the logistics later 😚

Baby-step 1: Pick up an application. If you don't have the funds to apply for a passport today then swing by your nearest post office or county clerk's office and grab an application. Easy, yes?

Baby-step 2: In a week or so, stop by your local Walgreens or CVS and take your passport photo. They are usually just $7.99
Baby-step 3: The next time you receive your pay, go straight to the post office or county clerk's office and submit your application.

Voila!

Within a few weeks, your passport will be en route.

In the meantime,  start looking for flights and hotel deals on expedia or Groupon. Follow travel blogs on social media. Check out locations you'd be open to visiting on YouTube.

If you have family and friends who travel abroad often, ask if you can tag along on their next adventure.

The world is your oyster honey. Live it up!
+And please don't let people make you afraid to travel abroad. The world outside of the US is not scary like folks make it seem.

In 2019, be open to new adventures. If you've been meaning to get a passport then don't let this month end without taking at least one baby-step action to get you closer to your goal.

++ If you have children, they should have a passport too. If you are no longer with the father he must sign their application in order for it to be approved. No signature from him is required if he  is incarcerated or has passed away. Also, if your child is 16 or older, only one parent needs to sign the application.

If your ex lives far away getting his signature may be a pain, but don't give up. I once drove 2 hours in a heavy rainstorm to find my children's father so he could sign for our childrens' passports.

But trust me: once those passports are in your hand it would have been all worth it. You (and your children) will now have access to all the countries in the globe and can travel wherever and whenever you like. Doesn't that sound fun?

No more delay, okay?

Bon Voyage!
